A scam using the likeness of recently deceased actor Alain Delon lures people into gambling.
In a video published on the X platform, with the help of artificial intelligence (AI), the actor’s image and voice were visualized for the purpose of advertising an online casino.
“If you’re watching this video, I’m already dead. However, if you fail to win in my online casino, I’ll give you 100,000 euros,” promises the actor’s “digital double” in the video, which has reached over 2 million users , writes AFP, quoted by BTA.
This fake ad has now been disabled, but alternative videos featuring the actor still exist, redirecting viewers to the casino.
Fake content forged with the help of AI, also called “deepfake” (deepfake), has fueled a powerful wave of disinformation recently, affecting many celebrities, including pop star Taylor Swift.
In late July, Elon Musk was criticized after sharing a “deepfake” with his 192 million followers. It shows a spoofed image and voice of US Vice President Kamala Harris describing President Joe Biden as too old and accusing him of not knowing how to run a country.
