A former wrestler has been hanged in Iran, caught participating in protests in memory of Mahsa Amini, and the same sentence for a 26-year-old footballer. The whole world has been talking about the case of the 22-year-old girl since September. Recall that Amini was killed by the Iranian authorities because of her refusal to wear the hijab.
The Iranian regime takes a tough stance on the country’s protests and seeks to punish those involved and who are fighting for women’s rights and freedoms.
Majid Reza Rahnavard, executed hours ago, is a former wrestler (23 years old). He was publicly hanged in the holy city of Mashhad after being sentenced to death for killing two security officers, Mizan news agency reported.

“Rachnavard was sentenced to death for stabbing two members of the security forces to death,” Mizan said, adding that he also allegedly injured four other people.
The execution of Majid Reza Rahnavard comes four days after the first hanging of a prisoner convicted of taking part in protests sparked by the death of Mahsa Amini in mid-September. Earlier, 23-year-old Mohsen Shekari was also executed.
‘Mizan’ revealed that Amir Nasser-Azadani who is a footballer will also be hanged. He is accused of active participation in protests in the Islamic Republic.
The World Federation of Professional Footballers (FIFPro) released a statement following the news and said it was shocked and disgusted by the news of the imminent execution of Amir Nasser-Azadani.
“She is fighting for women’s rights and fundamental freedoms in her country. We stand in solidarity with Amir and demand the immediate lifting of her punishment,” FIFPro announced.
Amir Nasser-Azadani’s career takes place entirely in his homeland. The defender first played in Rah Anan and then in SK Traktor.

Another 23-year-old protester, Majidreza Rahnavard, was just executed in Mashhad, Iran. No lawyer, no due process, tortured confession, show trial. He was hanged for “declaring war on God”. This cruelty in the name of religion is what has secularized so many young Iranians. pic.twitter.com/p7xz9EBRDn
