They gun down a former deputy and his son in Veracruz

Former local deputy Alexis Sánchez García and current head of the Congressional Legislative Services Secretariat, was riddled with bullets along with his youngest son. While his wife is reported as serious.

The former legislator was attacked with bullets when he was traveling in his vehicle, in the limits of Tezonapa and Cosalopa.

HE CELEBRATED BEFORE HE DIE

Moments before being murdered, Sánchez García celebrated the 50th anniversary of his family business, the well-known “Barranca Seca” auto parts store.

“50 years of dry barranca distributions, we thank everyone who has supported us during this time, providing service to the entire TEZONAPA region… apart from that, I was pleased to greet many friends from the region… greetings to all and all (sic)”, he published on his social networks.

THE ATTACK

According to the first reports, the former deputy was traveling through Tezonapa when armed subjects intercepted him, managing to evade them and a pursuit began. But the alleged hitmen caught up with him at the bus terminal and sprayed him with lead.

Immediately, the criminals escaped from the place, while paramedics arrived at the site of the attack and confirmed the deaths of the former deputy and his son. On the other hand, Sánchez García’s wife was taken to a hospital in serious condition.

After the shooting, other people were injured and the shops in the area closed their curtains.

Then, an operation by the police corporations and the National Guard began to find the hit men.

They take him out of the Citizen Movement

Sánchez García resigned from Movimiento Ciudadano (MC) in 2020 after the state leader of that political party, Sergio Gil Rullán, initiated an expulsion process against him for voting in favor of a local electoral reform proposed by the Governor, Cuitláhuac García Jiménez.

In May 2020, Sánchez García informed the plenary session of his resignation as an MC militant and declared himself a deputy without a party, however, he coordinated the mixed group of the PRD.

For the current LXVI Legislature, with a majority of Morena, the former deputy received the position of the Secretary of Legislative Services of Congress.
