A refrigeration technician, from the city of Sincelejo, was saved from being extorted, thanks to the quick reaction and trust of his relatives in the authorities.
As it was known, the company in which the victim works was contacted for a refrigeration maintenance service that had to be done in the rural area of the municipality of San Antonio de Palmito.
Immediately afterwards, the company assigned its 46-year-old worker and after arriving at the site, he received a call from a man who identified himself as a presumed member of the Gaitanista Self-Defense Forces of Colombia.

The stranger told him that he had been kidnapped and if he took any action to escape they would make an attempt on his life. Later, the criminals demanded from his family the sum of six million pesos for his release.

However, the relatives of the technician denounced the incident before the Gaula of the Colombian Navy, an organization that deployed tactical units in the aforementioned population to carry out an anti-extortion operation.
During a rigorous search, the uniformed officers located and removed the victim from the area in good health, being returned safe and sound to his family, thus avoiding the payment of extortion.
