The outcome of the unprecedented case in Burgas. In one of the sections in the seaside town, the cards for the machines disappeared. This forced the vote there to continue on paper.

This morning, at the opening of the 31st section of the Burgas school “Cyril and Methodius”, the members of the commission did not find the cards with which to start the voting machine.

“The only thing I can assume is that they were inadvertently collected with other documents. It was not something intentional. We had to search the room several times to see if we would find them,” Parvoleta Tasheva, chairwoman of the PEC, told BNT.

Due to the disappearance of five plates, the election day in the section started an hour late and with paper ballots. People who wanted to vote in the first hours were disappointed.

Even if the cards are stolen, RIK-Burgas is adamant that they cannot be misused.

“This is how the voting system is made, that each card and in fact the group of cards are only for this machine,” added Rositsa Dimova, RIK-Burgas.

Even if the cards are found, they are no longer valid.
