A female doctor was removed from her office in a clinic in Cali, Colombia, by a WhatsApp chat in which she wrote an offensive message asking for the death of “a thousand Indians” at the hands of the paramilitaries.
The controversy began after the screenshot of the message in the chat was disseminated through social networks, which caused great discomfort among other clinic workers and public opinion. Snail News.
“It makes you want the self-defense groups to come and literally kill about a thousand Indians, so just a few more for you to understand. If I knew where I have to give money for this to happen, I would fly there. If someone knows, let me know ”, wrote the worker in the group with her colleagues.

After the unfortunate comments, the communications office of the Imbanaco Clinic issued a statement from Twitter, through which the board of directors of the medical center condemned the statements and ended the contract of Dr. Juliana Andrea Rojas Neira.

“After a responsible analysis of the facts, the decision has been made to unilaterally terminate the contract that mediates the relationship with an affiliated doctor and of which we reserve the name for security reasons, since it does not represent the values and the actions of our institution ”, the resolution reads.
The doctor apologized
Later, the doctor also addressed a few words to the people affected by her comments, apologizing for the offensive way in which she expressed herself about the indigenous community.
“I am very sorry as a human being for having allowed myself to be permeated by the context of terror that our city is experiencing and I publicly apologize for having said the expressions I wrote out of fear, overwhelm and impotence,” he said.

For its part, the Cauca Regional Indigenous Council also condemned the statements through a written communication.

“Health professionals with these criteria are the ones who help perpetuate the different expressions of violence that our country is going through, and on the contrary, what it generates are feelings of hatred, fear and mistrust, putting life and health at risk of the indigenous community members ”, they indicated.
