Miami-Dade County authorities reported the discovery of the body of a young man who appears to have died after being attacked by his pet dog.
According to local media Telemundo 51the 29-year-old young man would have been found by the police this Tuesday, December 19, around 7:00 pm, inside the garage of a home in the Kendall area.
The hypothesis is being used that the young man lost his life after being attacked by his dog because the body had several bite marks, however, Miami-Dade authorities indicated that a forensic evaluation is still needed, so that the investigation continues.
The police report indicates that a friend of the deceased had not heard from him since last Sunday, so he went to his home to see if he was okay. Upon arriving at the house, located on Southwest 104th Street and 127th Avenue, he took a look inside the garage, finding the young man’s body.
At the moment, it is unknown how long the young man had been dead before being found, nor what could have caused the pet to attack.
“We don’t know what type of breed the dog is, but we do know that the Animal Control Department took the animal and they have to follow a procedure,” said Álvaro Zabaleta, police spokesperson.
Authorities also sent their condolences to the family of the victim, whose identity was not revealed, noting that this was a situation that very few pet owners consider possible.
“Regardless of the breed of dog, this is a very unfortunate circumstance. “I think it is not a circumstance that any pet owner thinks they would encounter having their pet and our deepest condolences go out to the victim’s family,” Miami-Dade Detective Andre Martin said during a conference. of press.
Neighbors of the victim interviewed by the aforementioned media point out that the dog never showed aggressive behavior, which is why they were surprised by what happened on their street.
Another body found in Miami-Dade
This was not the only body found this Tuesday in Miami-Dade County, as a body was found inside a garbage container located in front of a home on Southwest 84th Street and 161st Place, in West Kendall.
The discovery was made by a couple of workers from a garbage collection truck, who, when lifting the container to empty it into the vehicle, noticed that a pair of feet were protruding from it.
