They find Carolina Martínez dead in her house, after days missing

Mexico City authorities found the body of Carolina Estefanía Martínez Zea, a 22-year-old young man, a student at the National School of Anthropology and History (ENAH), in her own home, after being reported as missing since January 13.

According to the Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City, the causes of death are not yet known.

He argued that staff from the Office of the Prosecutor for Investigation and Prosecution of Disappearance Crimes analyzed private video cameras as well as telephony, “with negative results, which allowed it to be established that the 22-year-old girl would possibly be located at her home.”

They assured that until this Wednesday, a week after her disappearance, investigative police officers located the young woman’s body at her home, in the Álvaro Obregón mayor’s office.

“The FGJCDMX is awaiting the autopsy of the law to establish the causes of the death of the young woman. Meanwhile, personnel from the General Coordination of Investigation of Gender Crimes and Attention to Victims provides the corresponding support to the young woman’s family, ”he stated.

According to her family and friends, Carolina left her home on the afternoon of Wednesday, January 13, to a nearby bank and did not return.

Carolina’s house is located on Vicente Guerrero street, Lomas de la Era neighborhood, in the Álvaro Obregón mayor’s office. The bank branch to which he was going is in the same neighborhood.

At the time of her disappearance, Carolina was wearing a black blouse, pink sweatshirt, pink, blue and white patterned pants, and black tennis shoes.

This same Wednesday, the National School of Anthropology and History (ENAH) together with the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) called for redoubling efforts to locate Carolina, who was studying a Bachelor of History.

“Anguished by her disappearance, we call for redoubled efforts to find Carolina, at the same time that we ask the authorities to accelerate the investigations related to this unfortunate event and we reiterate our solidarity with her family, friends, teachers and colleagues from the ENAH”, they pointed in a release.

In addition, family and friends held a protest on January 20 to demand that the capital authorities locate the young woman.

Days before they had created an account on Twitter to share any information you have about Carolina, using the hashtag #TeBuscamosCaro.
