Faced with the beginning of a new school year, it is recommended that students have a complete vaccination schedule.
In this context, it was reported that all the vaccines in the National Calendar are applied in community Primary Health Care Centers (CAPS), vaccination centers and public hospitals in the City.
It was detailed from the Municipality that children entering first grade (between 5 and 6 years old) must receive IPV against poliomyelitis; the triple viral SRP against measles, rubella and mumps; triple bacterial cellular for diphtheria, tetanus, and whooping cough; and that of chickenpox.
For their part, 11-year-old boys have to apply the acellular triple bacterial to prevent diphtheria, tetanus and whooping cough; and the single dose of meningococcus, which acts against meningitis and the transmission of the bacteria to infants.
In addition, it is necessary that the same group be vaccinated against the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) that manages to avoid various types of cervical cancer and other diseases. This last antibody has a schedule of two doses separated by at least six months.
It is worth emphasizing that in order to immunize the child population, it is essential to present the unified vaccination card, the health book and previous vaccination certificates.
It was also explained that each application must be registered by the health personnel involved in the procedure in order to leave a written record of the applied vaccine, generate the individual’s vaccination history, and facilitate the identification of incomplete schemes.
It was recalled that it is the responsibility and obligation of the parents and guardians of minors to guarantee the application of the corresponding vaccines for each stage of the life cycle with the aim of avoiding diseases and infections in the family group and the community in general.
“Vaccines are one of the main measures to avoid a set of preventable pathologies that can be serious for health,” they indicated in the Health area of the Municipality of La Plata.
