There are many people whose weight is not affected by eating, unlike those who gain more weight when eating a small amount of food.
Live Science has published the reason behind this phenomenon, according to what Kathleen Melanson, a professor of nutrition at the University of Rhode Island, explained in the US.
Kathleen Melanson said that there is no single answer to this question, because it results from genetic, dietary or behavioral factors, and the effect of these factors varies from person to person.
She explained that people who seem to eat a lot without gaining weight may burn those calories by eating less at another meal or snack throughout the rest of the day, or they may eat slowly and feel full and then stop eating quickly.
Dr. Frank Greenway, chief physician at the Bennington Center for Biomedical Research, added that physical activity can also be a cause, and not only exercise, but moving, walking and life activities in general, as body movement increases the metabolism process.
Melanson said that the more people move, the more mitochondria inside muscle cells, which are power stations, the more calories burned.
Dr Ines Barroso, a researcher at the University of Cambridge in England who studies obesity genetics, explained that there is little evidence to suggest that without exercising these people burn more calories than those who exercise, but there may be physiological differences that allow some people to burn. Overloading the number of calories they consume naturally without relying on a diet.
Melanson stated that the nervous system signals interact with the hormones that circulate in our blood to tell us when we are hungry or feel hungry, and this process is called regulating appetite and it may be more sensitive in some people, and that the hormone leptin helps regulate the amount of food we want to eat over longer periods of time. .
