Professor of constitutional law Paul Bovend’eert does not think it is good that the House of Representatives does little or nothing against the transgressive behavior of MPs. That is, says the House, up to the groups themselves. Bovend’eert thinks that is not possible. Because Woke goes above everything, also above the fact that representatives of the people are not employees of the House. Apparently.
According to Bovend’eert, this approach – or the lack of it – leads to “arbitrariness” from the House of Representatives. Some groups do act against cases of “transgressive behaviour,” but “others do nothing at all. The risk you run is that the authority of the House of Representatives and trust in the institute will also suffer.”
“That is why I think that the House should really take that responsibility itself, and there is every reason for that. Because, as mentioned, MPs fulfill a public function in Parliament, in the House. The House already has a code of conduct for members,” namely for entanglement. Bovend’eert believes that this should be expanded to include “transgressive behaviour.”

Okay. Time to intervene. Of course, transgressive behavior is very annoying. But what this professor is proposing is a) ridiculous, b) dangerous and c) contrary to the function of the presidium of the House of Representatives. Representatives of the people are representatives. They are not employed by the House of Representatives. A presidency has nothing to say about them.
Who would? The voter. If there are members of parliament who systematically misbehave, then this must be made public so that the voter can punish the MP in question – if the voter thinks it’s an important issue, that is, and doesn’t think to himself, ‘it will bomb me.’
If we do what Bovend’eert wants you will 100 percent certainly get brutal arbitrariness. Parties that break with the narrative of the party cartel are then always singled out and dealt with harshly, while parties that neatly follow the mainstream are protected.
