After the meeting between the economic team and the Ministry of Health in the Government Palace, Llamosas indicated that at the moment no new loans are planned for the purchase of vaccines and assured that the Ministry of Health has already assigned a fund of US $ 40 million for that purpose.
However, he emphasized that they can redirect funds already available or loans assigned to other projects if necessary.
Likewise, he stressed that the total budget for said health portfolio this year is US $ 1,000 million, among which there is still a significant remainder of what was granted under the Health Emergency Law.

It should be noted that Health had, thanks to that law, about US $ 530 million just to face the pandemic, and as indicated by the Minister of Finance, in almost a year, only US $ 290 million were executed, considering that the balance is of G. 240 million. In other words, only a little more than half of the money was used.
The head of the Treasury also stressed once again that Health rules out a phase decline and added that if it is registered later, it will have a strong impact on the economy and they will have to evaluate alternatives to cope.

Llamosas emphasized the need to continue maintaining the necessary care to contain the spread of the virus, use a mask, maintain distance, wash hands and avoid unnecessary events where sanitary protocols are not respected.
He said that all this depends on whether the forecasts can be met and do not affect the normal development of the economy. In this sense, he emphasized that there are signs that ensure that the economic recovery “is underway.”
