They discovered dusty “gems” in a Polish shed. Some of them will go to the museum

Stories related to the discovery of cars dusting for several decades in some shed are always exciting for automotive enthusiasts. Why? Usually, the finder of the “barnfind” takes a forgotten car and does everything to restore it to its former glory, and then drive it on the roads. Will that also be the case here? Well, not really!

Not all cars will be restored

The team from the National Treasure Museum, which used to be located in one of the halls of the FSO plant in Żerań, discovered the mysterious warehouse, and has been looking for a new place to store exhibits and organize automotive exhibitions for a long time. It is possible that soon the next “gems” will join the collection, although … in a slightly different form.

In the videos published on the museum’s Instagram account, we can see, among others: Polonez Atu, Skoda 105L, Yugo Koral, Rover 200, Mercedes W124 and Audi 80. All covered with a layer of dust, but not all with the same thickness. – The oldest cars have been there for 10 years, and the youngest two or three years – tells us Robert Brykała from the National Treasury, who discovered the forgotten vehicles.

Dusty cars were saved from the compactor

We also managed to find out how the cars ended up in the shed. “The cars are at a guy who owns a junkyard and every now and then he salvages cars that he regretted scrapping. I came across him by accident. It looks very interesting, because these dusty cars have an amazing atmosphere. This is something that we would like to recreate in the museum when we manage to find a new place for it – reveals Brykała.

After years of collecting vehicles salvaged from the crusher, the owner decided to get rid of them. Some of them will now go to the museum’s collection, others you will be able to buy and restore yourself. Which one exactly? watch National Treasure Museum channel on YouTube, because this Sunday there will be a development of the history of cars that were supposed to be gone!
