/ world today news/ Archaeologist Prof. Nikolay Ovcharov has discovered a new gold treasure in Perperikon, but for security reasons he is keeping the find a secret, TV7 reported.
According to the information, several gold coins were found during successive excavations in the Thracian rock city. Archaeological activities at Perperikon began at the beginning of the month. This year, BGN 180,000 has been allocated for excavations there, and 100 people are participating in the activities. Prof. Ovcharov’s team clarified that if the money is not enough, there is an agreement with the municipality of Kardzhali to also financially support the excavations.
