A foreign member of the crew of the cruise ship Asuka II, anchored in the port of Yokohama, tested positive for Covid 19, according to what he reported NYK.

The crew member had tested negative in three PCR tests before leaving his country of residence on March 1, upon entering Japan, and on boarding the ship on March 3.

After confirming their positive result to the person, a public health center was informed and all crew members who had direct contact with the infected during working hours were tested. They all tested negative. In addition, the entire ship was disinfected.

The problem led to the cancellation of the cruises departing on March 19, 21 and 23, all with tours of Japan.
