An employee of the IREMI Health Center (Romulo Etcheverry Institute of Maternity and Childhood) positive for coronavirus and generated concern among the staff of the traditional municipal institution, which until then remained without cases of Covid-19 infections.
According to reports, the woman went to the doctor for a sore throat and, as health personnel, the protocol was used and the corresponding swab was performed.
In the last hours, the positive result of this examination was finally known, with which it was decided to isolate for fourteen days the area colleagues of the employee, since they had shared tasks in the previous days.
On Saturday, an exhaustive disinfection was carried out at the Health Center, one of the busiest in the city, located on Calle San Martín, between Dorrego and July 14, in front of Plaza Dardo Rocha.
From the Municipality it was confirmed that the case of the IREMI employee was included among the 27 reported in the part of Saturday.
The IREMI, one of the main vaccination centers in the city, would continue to function normally this Monday.
The Romulo Etcheverry Institute for Motherhood and Childhood was one of the few health centers in the city that had not yet presented positive cases among its staff.
Previous cases had been registered in the HIGA, HPC, Materno Infantl and Houssey hospitals, the private clinics Colón, 25 de Mayo, Pueyrredon, Del Niño, Fracture and Orthopedics, CEMA, Health Center No. 1, UPA 13 , the Radiological Institute, the Independence Avenue ophthalmological institute and the Southern Psychophysical Clinic.
