They detained a Bulgarian in Skopje and accused him of espionage (VIDEO) – Society – The world – In focus with Laura Krumova

A 49-year-old Bulgarian man was detained and charged with espionage in North Macedonia. After 10 hours in custody, he paid his bail and was ordered to leave the country by 3 o’clock.

Nikolay Dikovski lived for 4 years in North Macedonia. He is a consultant in the field of tourism for large companies. After a short stay in Bulgaria 3 months ago, he returned to continue his work in Skopje.

“I never had any problems in North Macedonia, everything was normal. I have many friends”, says Nikolay Dikovski.

A NOVA team met Nikolay Dikovski secretly, at his insistence, behind the Court of Appeal in Skopje. This happened thanks to a tip from his friend – the journalist Daniel Buzov from Vratsa.

“I have known Nikolay Dikovski for 40 years. All his relatives died. I am his only relative and yesterday he contacted me to say that they are preparing an accusation against him for illegal residence and espionage in favor of Bulgaria”, said Daniel Buzov.

“I was at home, two policemen came and I was taken to the District Office from 01:30 to 11:00 at night. They questioned me. Why have I skipped the days of residence, what is the purpose of my residence, etc.,” said Nikolay Dikovski.

“The relationship was short, but the whole story is strange because he has been living in Skopje for years and has been under permanent arrest. At the time when Zoran Zaev was prime minister, he was responsible in the Ministry of Tourism for spa centers in hotels. They are close friends with Zoran Zaev and I think that this is the basis of the attack against him. Most likely, the activity of the local services is being demonstrated, as a week ago the tires of the Bulgarian jeep he was driving were punctured”, explained Daniel Buzov. “What is happening around the French proposal is reflected in the relations between Bulgarians and Macedonians,” he added.

The tension in Nikolay Dikovski breaks out after the 10 hours spent in the police.

“If today the court orders a monetary guarantee and by the hour, if I don’t pay this guarantee – I have to go to prison,” said Dikovski.

The Bulgarian nevertheless collects 1,000 euros and is released. After which he was given until 3 o’clock to leave North Macedonia. And Dikovski and his relatives are amazed at the accusation of espionage.

“I absolutely exclude the possibility that he worked, because he is not that type of person, and I cannot accept that the services will allow the prime minister to be close to a person who is engaged in espionage and not only. I have information that Zoran Zaev came several times to secretly ski with Nikolay Dikovski in Bansko, and I can’t believe that no one got the impression that this person is dangerous, and at the same time he is next to their prime minister. said Daniel Buzov

Nikolay Dikovski is already in Bulgaria and does not think of returning to North Macedonia.
