The wave of insecurity that has affected Cuba for months continues to claim victims. On this occasion, the murder of a young Cuban father was reported in the province of Ciego de Ávila, allegedly for having been “mistaken for another person.”
According to Cuban influencer Niover Licea, the incident occurred last week in the town of Jicotea. The victim was identified as Miguel Ángel Espinosa, who had a baby who was only four months old.
According to Licea, the young man was traveling aboard his motorcycle with a young woman when the woman’s partner, upon seeing her “with another man,” suffered an aggressive attack of jealousy, attacking Espinosa and ending his life.
“He was the victim of a fit of jealousy, he mistook him for another and decided to take his life,” said a source who contacted the influencer.
This person points out that, after realizing the lethal mistake, possibly warned by his own partner, the aggressor went and voluntarily surrendered to the National Revolutionary Police.
Several publications shared on social networks confirmed the fact, saying goodbye to the young man, who was described by many as a good person who did not deserve to have received such a violent end.
“My brother, you left us and I couldn’t tell you how much I love you, but we will never forget you because of your words. “I am skinny, ugly but crazy, and I ask God to take good care of you,” user Orestes Pérez wrote on Facebook, who also shared a photograph in which he can be seen having a few drinks with the deceased young man.
In November, Espinosa celebrated the arrival of her baby with a moving publication, in which she shared photographs of the newborn and a short message in which she thanked God for everything that had happened to her.
“I love you my girl. Thank you, God, for everything,” Espinosa indicated months ago.
At the moment, more details are unknown, such as the name of the aggressor or the penalty he will have to face for the murder of the young man.
