Through social networks, a new case of a person over 80 years old was injected with an empty syringe in the middle of the National Vaccination Plan against covid-19.

This time it happened in Villavicencio and again the event was recorded on video. The images show how Emiliano Parrado, an 83-year-old adult, is initially injected with an empty syringe.

And while the epidemiologist Silvana Zapata insists that these types of episodes can be caused by inadvertent errors, that pass in traditional vaccination programs, affirms that the Expanded Program of Immunizations (EPI) must be more demanding and follow the protocol in front of the user of preparation for applications. Or in other words, all vaccination procedures must be transparent to people. “Only in this way will it be possible to gain trust with citizens and achieve the implementation of the plan in a transparent manner,” he says.

The clinic version

“It is the worker who notices the mistake made and tells the user and his family that he had not carried out the procedure properly. After explaining the incident, he requests authorization to carry out a new puncture, with the bottled biological. The companion of the user, as was expressed in the care provided, accepts the apologies expressed by the vaccinator and authorizes that the protocol be carried out again, this time administering the vaccine of
