Witnesses who registered the incident indicate that Herrera was attacked and taken to the La María station in the south of the city, family and friends assure that the musician “He was tortured and forced to testify that he participated in acts of vandalism.”

This fact has generated outrage from both citizens and public and political figures, such as Wilson Arias del Polo Democrático, who also shared a statement from the Student Representation of the Faculty of Integrated Arts of the Universidad del Valle, where they declare that they reject the “Illegal capture of our colleague Álvaro Herrera Melo”.
“We denounce that Álvaro has been seriously injured and tortured. Likewise, he has received intimidation and threats to testify against him, thus violating all due process and his human rights, ”the statement read.
The Police so far have not made public statements regarding this fact.
