They demand the Board to “comply” and increase the use of the Burgo Free Time Residence

Three years after the Board announced that it was going to increase the use of the free time residence “The Tourist Burgo” of La Líneafrom CCOO warn that the administration still “He has not kept his promise.”

The union, through its representative, Jesús Román, warns that on September 11, 2019 the Governing Council of the Board approved the “Andalusian Program of Preparation and Contingency Measures before the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union”, in which 112 preparation and contingency measures were contemplated in order to minimize the effects and consequences of Brexit, especially in the Campo de Gibraltar. Thus, measure 5.1.25 of that program contemplates textually “the encourage the use of the residence free time (Tourist Village) of La Línea at other times of the year in addition to the summer”.

“The only certain thing is that we are in 2022 and the Andalusian executive has not adopted any measure to comply with this measure, so the template continues to endure cuts in working hours and the city of La Línea continues to have a tourist resource below its potential”, stated Román, who considers that “the best investment is the one made in the quality of the public employment of the Leisure Residence and that the discontinuous permanent staff suffer contracts of precariousness and inequity”.

CCOO points out that these contracts were cut as a result of the 2008 crisis “we understand that this crisis is over and the reasonable thing is to return to normality”.

In another order of things, this union has recalled the need to undertake the so many times demanded integral reform of the Residencein line with what has been done in other similar facilities in Andalusia
