They demand a PCR test for children who do not have an anticovid vaccine

Parents of students from schools that make up the educational district 15-05 of HerreraSanto Domingo Oeste, must send every Monday a PCR test of their children aged five to 11 years, in case they decide not to vaccinate them against the coronavirus.

The information was confirmed by personnel of the aforementioned educational district to María González, mother of a student of the Ivan Guzman Klang Schoola center that is part of that district, which he called after receiving a notice in which that campus recalled the date of the day of vaccination for that age group, on February 14, and the provision of the PCR test in case of not doing so.

“That’s how it is. If you don’t want to vaccinate your child, you test your child for COVID-19 and sends her to school on Monday.” indicated personnel of the educational district 15-05 of Herrera, according to what was expressed by the mother to Free Journal.

González maintained that when asking an employee of the educational district the reason why they are demanding the PCR test, when the authorities have indicated that the day will not be mandatory for the aforementioned age group and that it must be consented by the parents, she told him : “It is mandatory that you present proof that the child does not have COVID-19”.

The management of the Iván Guzmán Klang School confirmed to the mother that the decision was expressed to the center’s counselors at a meeting with the educational district and that the notice was sent “just as we received it at the center.” However, he added that the staff of the campus would hold a meeting, in order to “corroborate” the disposition on the tests.

At the end of January this year, the Government gave the green light to the vaccination of those under five years of age, a process that will be carried out starting in schools as a way of optimizing resources and taking advantage of the volume of the “captive population” of students, although it will not be an exclusive process of educational centers.

At that time, the coordinator of the Health Cabinet, Raquel Peña, together with the Minister of Health, Daniel Rivera, indicated that the consent of the parents will be imperative for this process.

In that tenor, the Minister of Education, Roberto Fulcar, expressed himself days later, indicating that they are working to determine the appropriate place and the protocols that will be used before the new measure, “because it is an inoculation consented to by the family, parents and guardians, that carries a document with an authorization so that the boy or girl can be inoculated”.

The scheme of kids from 5 to 11 years old, two doses of Sinovac are required, with a period between inoculations of 28 days.
