Unnoba and the Municipality carried out the delivery of playful learning materials for the children and families who attend the Casita del Saber, in the San Antonio neighborhoodwithin the framework of the program that both promote in coordination.
Danya Tavela, deputy and vice-rector of Unnoba pointed out: “The program has been in operation for a long time and is successful. Together with other deputies, they work and discuss care policies, they look for objectives and it all has to do with equalizing opportunities, both for families and for children, because sometimes four hours in schools are not achieves”. He also highlighted: “I like to visit the spaces, the staff is remarkable and it is important to value the joint work that the State can do from different levels, Municipality, university, schools, together with the private sector, since part of the materials are assigned from this sector to donate them”.
“It is important to be there and to know how the physical education and game programs are articulated, since they are fundamental factors for cognitive development at an early age,” he stressed.
Orlanda D’Andrea , director of Education of the Municipality maintained what “The program works in two points of Junín and in neighboring towns, it fulfills the function of a toy library, it has an important presence in the neighborhood, not only in the containment of the children, but also in the families and the idea is that the preparation is more fruitful”. In addition, the official highlighted that “in times of pandemic it was a very important space for families, they received food modules and a job in relation to the tasks they had in schools, the project was reinforcement of the recovery of content with the program ‘Schools by hand’, articulated with Unnoba. The commitment to the people, to the staff and to the families, who bring children into space every day is valuable.”
Juan Pablo Itoiz, Secretary of University Extension of the Unnoba stated what “The program works in coordination with the Municipality, each year proposals and activities are designed that are agreed upon with the Directorate of Education and the extension of Unnoba, it is a very fruitful back and forth”. “The program is voluntary, the children come without obligation, attendance is after school and the attendance percentage demonstrates the positive functioning of the program. From both places we try to provide the pedagogical continuity of the project to the children and their families; the needs are there and the ‘Casita del Saber’, in the San Antonio neighborhood, is the place of support and opportunity to think about a better future”, concluded Itoiz.
