About 900 pregnant cattle handed over to ranchers by the Government of Cesar as part of the bovine in vitro fertilization program. These animals are the product of a cross between Gyr cows with a Holstein bull, to produce an F1 female, which can produce on average up to 15 liters of milk.
Likewise, the Government of Cesar said that in addition to this delivery there are another 1,500 pending to which the embryos were transferred and are in the process of fertilization.
They also highlighted that by February 2021 they plan to deliver the first 100 births of these genetic crosses given in the Ganadero del Cesar CDT.
“We are working with the productive sector such as livestock, one of the most important in our territory, that is why we are making progress in genetic improvement through embryo transfer. This pregnancies project is free, we provide laboratory work, genetics, and at the same time, the synchronization protocols, in this way we help to improve the productivity of the Cesar farmers”, Declared Governor Luis Alberto Monsalvo.
