/ world today news/ Offshore would become a forbidden word in public procurement in our country, the “Press” newspaper points out in tomorrow’s issue.
More than 1,400 Bulgarian companies, whose owners are in Panama, the Seychelles and other exotic places, will lose the right to participate in public tenders.
The restrictions on offshore zones are included in the new draft law submitted to the National Assembly (NA) by MPs Yordan Tsonev and Delyan Peevski from DPS, considered a media magnate in our country.
According to the new law, companies with “unclear shareholders” would lose “a lot of opportunities” to participate in economic life.
It is about the entire spectrum of the economy – from concessions and privatization through energy to media. The door would only be opened for them if they announced their real owners.
