A group of British scientists recreated the portrait of Shakespeare in a 3D version using the latest computer technologies, hicomm.bg reported. As a model, they used the death mask of the famous poet, found in Darmstadt in 1840. Examining it, the specialists concluded that it was an exact copy of Shakespeare’s face. The three-dimensional portrait differs significantly from traditional images of the poet, its creators claim.
However, some critics and colleagues of the scientists doubt the reliability of the obtained results. The Shakespeare Birthplace Fund warns that there is no 100% certainty as to whether the death mask actually belongs to Shakespeare.
