They create the world’s largest gingerbread in the city

The world’s largest gingerbread village returns to Essex Market in Manhattan.

The artisan behind these magnificent creations is Jon Lovitch, who holds the Guinness World Record for the largest gingerbread village.

It takes 1,000 pounds of gingerbread, plus 8,000 pounds of icing, to make 1,500 individual houses using ginger.

Each of these houses will be here in the city.

Lovitch says the process is year-round, with 100-hour work weeks starting in the fall.

If you’re interested in seeing their work, they can do so on the Lower East Side until January 15th.
