One person was killed this morning in the parking lot in front of the “Mavrovka” shopping center in Skopje in an armed attack, the MIA said, BTA said.
As reported by the local television Thelma, the murder was carried out by four people, and the reason for the action is unknown. After the murder, the perpetrators fled and when the police tried to arrest them, they opened fire on the police. No Interior Ministry staff were injured.
Two of the people who escaped were later arrested. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of North Macedonia reports that they know who the third suspect is who is on the run.
The police immediately took tactical measures, closing off part of the city, searching several homes and searching several cars. Special police forces, helicopters and drones are involved in the operation, the MIA agency said.
There will be an increased police presence in some parts of Skopje to clarify the issue completely. This is the second shooting in Skopje in the last 24 hours – last night in the “Cento” district of Skopje, one person was injured in a shooting and transported to a clinical center.
