The General Director of Transit, Alfredo Alvayero, who supervised some points in San Salvador, confirmed that in a period of six hours they managed to carry out 821 anti-doping tests, captured fifteen drunk drivers and imposed 31 fines on men and women that did not exceed 100. degrees of alcohol in aspirated air.

“We find preventive actions on different roads nationwide, where we maintain anti-doping devices in the western zone, the eastern zone and the central zone to identify drivers under the influence of alcohol. The idea is to remove them from circulation to avoid misfortunes,” he stressed.

“This is part of the effort we make as a Government and is framed in our National Road Safety Plan; They are actions that help protect the lives of Salvadorans. There are people who continue to ignore the responsibility they have when driving a motor vehicle and who not only put themselves at risk, but they put everyone at risk,” added Alvayero.

“So far this year we have carried out around 9,600 breathalyzer tests, which leaves us with 284 dangerous drivers detained in this period, which represents an increase of 43% compared to last year,” revealed the Director of Transit. .

In that sense, he said that last year’s average was four dangerous drivers arrested per day, but that this year they have an average of six, which is why he called on the population not to consume alcohol if they are going to drive any type of vehicle. .
