They can’t pigeonhole me as an actor

EL NUEVO DIARIO, SANTO DOMINGO. – The Dominican actor and singer Anthony Álvarez, indicated that, despite being known for his career in the world of acting, no one can pigeonhole him within the profession, because he considers that the “purpose of artists is to entertain and that is what I am currently looking for my new musical project ”.

“I try to put a little acting in it too because it’s all entertainment, so what I want is to entertain because that’s what we do, we are entertainment people, not just an actor, they can’t pigeonhole me, we are people that we try to create entertainment on whatever platform they let us, “he said.

Álvarez made his comments during an interview conducted by the communicator Raymond Moreta, in the program “La Embajada”, which is broadcast on the digital platform of El Nuevo Diario TV.

In that sense, he said he understood that people tend to pigeonhole actors, but said that “he is playing the crazy goat”, and will continue with his project of singing salsa because “it is something that he wanted to do for a long time.”

“Before you criticize and judge, did you listen to the song, did you see the video? And now comes my other test, go see me live. I already have my orchestra and I am rehearsing then, you are going to see me live and there you judge ”, he added.

Álvarez, who is currently promoting his latest single “The great lover”, mentioned that after starting the project he had received a very favorable acceptance and said that “the negative has been very little.”

“The fact that they have accepted me, that I am feeling that they are accepting me because the song is getting through. He got into Chile two weeks ago, the first place in a station there that is by vote, it is not that they put it, now we are in the first place in Mallorca they just told me then, I say wow how nice ”, he highlighted.

He joked that “the beauty of the case is that in those countries they are listening to a song that they have no idea who the singer is”, something that he said he likes because now he has to work “to put a face to the issue.”

“For me it is better because it is as if I throw a little thing and I stay here looking to see if people are liking it or not, and then if they do not like it you run the other way,” he added laughing.
