They can’t even spell the name of the OTP: that’s what fraudsters are trying to do now

You don’t have to be very perceptive to spot the scam message if the fraudsters are so clumsy that they want to deduct money from someone in the name of OTB Bank instead of OTP Bank.

There are some fraud attempts that are the perpetrators they do everything for it, to make the e-mail or SMS that they send to their victims look authentic: in such tricky cases, many fall for the deception. But when next to the OTP Bank logo, you manage to write OTB Bank twice, the attempt is rather ridiculous.

“Dear customer, please note that until the update is successfully completed, access to and use of OTB Bank services (including withdrawals and payments) is limited. You can check your device by clicking the link below: OTB Bank.”

Fraudsters send messages with such wording e-mails intended to be deceptive: while at the same time

they address the addressee as customer instead of customer, enigmatically incomprehensible text is included, and twice out of two they refer to the financial institution whose name they are misusing as OTB.

Hopefully, due to the above reasons, very few people will stand up for this scam attempt – unfortunately, they do exist more sophisticated fraud attempts too. That is why it is important to know that from your bank on an unusual surfacemessages with strange wording from an unknown sender probably do not come from the financial institution, íand never click on suspicious links that appear embedded in them.
