Häcken aims to have a new head coach in place in December. Earlier this week I wrote GP that the club is in contact with a handful of current candidates for the assignment – and that Olof Mellberg and Per-Mathias Högmo are two of the names on the list.
Now a third name has emerged.
According to sources spoken to by the doctor, Mak Lind, who has continued coaching work in the club’s women’s team, deserves a change to the men’s team.
Marcus Jodin, the club manager, handles the activities:
– We do not comment on our coaching process at all, and above all not when it comes to names, he says.
Marcus Jodin: “We always look for internal solutions”
Häcken has found the two previous coaches, Per-Mathias Högmo and Pål Arne “Paco” Johansen, through the Danish recruitment company Onenexus. The company is involved in the process even now – and according to information from family doctors, Mak Lind has sat down for an interview with the company.
– I have no idea about that either, says Jodin and points out:
– However, you must know that we work with Onenexus in several different ways, and of course always all the time to evaluate the work we do in relation to a member – foot. Lots of coaching questions and leadership questions. It is not surprising that this conversation exists. We have an ongoing collaboration with them that runs throughout the year, and it has nothing to do with whether we need a coach or not. But they are a good board for us where we have a framework agreement that we work according to.
What would make Mak Lind qualified to coach BK Häcken’s men?
– I’m not even getting into it. Mak is our coach and leads one of our production teams. He’s doing a great job there and we’ll see him continue that. But it is clear that we are always looking at internal solutions. We want to encourage players as well as managers and employees to constantly improve. Then it will be natural that we always evaluate it. But Mak is a head coach, and that’s where we see him now.
In that case, what signals would he send if he leaves the ladies for the gentlemen?
– It’s just speculative. That signal is always with the receiver somewhere. If we look historically, it’s not the kind of movement we usually do. We have two production teams that we respect equally. No part of our business affects the other.
The GP has spoken to Mak Lind, who does not want to comment on the data.
