They call on the community to file complaints regarding problems in the use of energy – 2024-04-04 01:40:02

The regional authorities of both institutions met with residents of Rancagua and Malloa, who had problems related to the collection of electricity bills and voltage variations.

Highlighting the importance of presenting, through official channels, complaints related to the use of energy sources such as electricity, liquid fuels and gas, was the focus of the meetings held by staff from SEC O’Higgins and Seremi. of Energy with residents of the communes of Rancagua and Malloa.

The first meeting was held in the Camino al Sauzal sector, in Rancagua, where the community had made a claim against the CGE company for the individual charge for an electric totalizer, which was declared inadmissible. However, it was later charged again, which led to them accumulating debt and suffering power outages due to non-payment.

Finally, this was solved with the intervention of the Superintendency of Electricity and Fuels (SEC) and the company eliminated the charge. In this regard, the regional director of SEC O’Higgins, Felipe Lerzundi, commented that “with this example, we wanted to highlight the presentation of complaints by users, both in the electricity company and in this Superintendency, so that we can “Be aware of the problems and follow up on the actions implemented by the company to provide a solution.”

Likewise, the Minister of Energy, Claudio Martínez, pointed out that “we emphasize that, together with the SEC, they make the corresponding claims. That is a way to be able to become aware of the situations that occur in the delivery of the service by companies and offer solutions so that everyone can access quality energy.”

CLAIMS FOR VOLTAGE VARIATIONS

Subsequently, the regional authorities went to the commune of Malloa to meet with leaders of the Neighborhood Council of the Cuenca sector, an activity in which councilor Rodrigo Caballero and the regional councilor of Cachapoal, Ana González, were also present.

There, they responded to the concerns of those present who, for the most part, mentioned having problems with the electricity supply they receive in their homes due to the occurrence of voltage variations in the sector and, in addition, the SEC explained its role as a supervisory body.

Given this, the importance of first entering the complaints into the formal service channels of the respective company was insisted on and, if a response is not received within a maximum period of 30 days or if the response is not satisfactory, they can be replicated in the Superintendency through www.sec.cl. There a menu will be displayed with options related to electricity and fuels, such as power outages, collection or billing problems, burning of electrical devices, among others.
