The Province of Buenos Aires already vaccinates part of the 40 to 49-year-old band, although in the coming days it will again cite all the previous bands -more than 50- to ensure that people at risk are vaccinated. The strategy of summoning those over 60 to be vaccinated freely, without a turn, has that objective: to encourage even those who did not register, because perhaps they do not have a computer, are not encouraged or have doubts. It will be enough for them to go with their ID to the nearest vaccination center to their home and they will apply the vaccine. In CABA, registration will open to vaccinate people between 45 and 49 years old, maybe on Monday or Tuesday. In this way, progress is made at great speed and it is very possible – given the number of vaccines that arrive – that it will continue towards the 40 to 44 range in the week that begins on June 21. Minister Daniel Gollán had predicted that people under 40 could be vaccinated at this rate before the end of the month.
Risk
The Buenos Aires Ministry of Health, led by Gollán and Nicolás Kreplak, is focused in ensuring priority vaccination of people at risk. On the one hand, those over 60 and on the other hand those between 18 and 59 with pre-existing diseases. Of this last group, taking into account those who registered, no less than 550,000 people remain to be vaccinated. All of them have already received citations, but the idea is now to re-cite those who failed to get vaccinated because maybe they had drawbacks.
From now on, there is a suspicion that a significant number are people from other districts -many Buenos Aires- who signed up in the Province of Buenos Aires due to the good rate of vaccination and later would have given up due to the difficulties that arose to move given the restrictions or because they ended up vaccinated in their districts.
With this outlook, in the next few days those who were missing will be re-cited and people aged 40-49 years and those aged 50 to 59 who are still missing will continue to be vaccinated. In La Plata they are considered essential, but less risky than those over 60, who are those who have been in intensive care during all this time. There are differences in the vaccination of the different districts – some may be more advanced – because there are municipalities that have many older people and then it takes longer to reach the younger age groups or because more or fewer people registered than in the municipality of at least side.

The CABA Ministry of Health, headed by Fernán Quirós, is completing the entire period from 50 to 54 years with no previous illnesses at the beginning of the week. Enrollment for the next tier, ages 45-49, will be announced on Monday or Tuesday. The Buenos Aires district has already applied dose 2 of Sputnik that arrived last week and that completed the vaccination of those who applied dose 1 in February and March. There are still about 50,000 people who received Sputnik V, dose 1, in late March or April. Those people should receive dose 2 in July.

An initiative of the utmost importance announced by Governor Axel Kicillof on Friday is that the vaccination of those over 60 was released as had already been done with those over 70. This means that anyone of those ages can attend the vaccination they consider, just with your ID, and they will vaccinate you. The initiative aims to promote the vaccination of people who did not register. There are many who do not even have a computer, they did not find out completely, they have doubts and having these facilities gives them an incentive.
Gollán-Kreplak’s plan is that, after vaccinating those enrolled, they go out to the neighborhoods, house by house, to vaccinate. In principle, that requires a vaccine like Covaxin – the Province of Buenos Aires bought 10 million from the Barath Biotech laboratory, but it will take time – that can be handled at room temperature. Experts say that when the flu vaccine was made home to home, the results were very good, because the person who is not very connected is vaccinated, the one who trusts when seeing the vaccinator face to face and because the closeness of the dose also favors the doubtful end up accepting. In fact, in the first week of free vaccination of those over 70, more than a thousand people came to be vaccinated.

Argentina advanced strongly in the vaccination rate, beating the record in the past week: 2,372,220 doses applied.
