Given the current epidemiological situation of increased cases, the Ministry of Public Health (MSP) has resolved to anticipate the administration of doses of reinforcement complementary (third, fourth or fifth dose) of the coronavirus vaccine. As hinted in the statement, vaccination will be “agenda-free and staggered,” prioritizing different population groups.
The inoculation begins this Monday. Priority will be given to people over 80 and immunocompromised people in the Montevideo department. Vaccination for this group in the rest of the country will start on January 2. “The dates on which the administration of the complementary booster dose will begin in the other groups will be promptly communicated”, reads the text.
Similarly, the MSP has reported that, in all cases, it is necessary to wait 180 days after the last dose of the covid-19 vaccine, the same situation if you have had the disease. They also recommend that people over the age of 50 take the third and fourth, as appropriate.
