The Secretary of Public Security of the State, through the State Coordination of Civil Protection, coordinates with the Civil Protection of Jalisco, in order to detail the commitments that Operation Candelaria 2023 “Passage of Pilgrims” entails for both States.
The coordination meeting was held in San Juan de los Lagos and representatives of the State Civil Protection Coordinations of Aguascalientes, Michoacán, Querétaro, San Luis Potosí, as well as the Sedena and the National Guard were also present.
Jalisco has sent representatives from the Ministry of Health, the State Water Commission, Comprehensive Family Development, State Public Safety, Civil Defense, and Public Safety from the state’s 17 Los Altos and Bajos municipalities, as well as a representative from the Basilica of San Juan de los Lagos and the National Caravan of the Faith.
In the case of Guanajuato, Luis Antonio Güereca Pérez, head of the State Coordination of Civil Protection of Guanajuato, explained the plan to be developed during this operation, approved by the State Council.
Güereca Pérez stressed that Guanajuato will support pilgrims in whatever is necessary.
The next meeting will be on Wednesday January 11 in the city of Guanajuato. There we will refine the details of this operation.
