The team of the show for investigative journalism on BNT “Traces Remain” was attacked in Serbia, said the host of the show Bogdana Lazarova.

The aggression took place between 2.30 pm and 3.00 pm on the state road in front of the Podvirove mine in the village of Karamanitsa, Bosilegrad region.

Approaching the mine on the state road, about 50 meters from the entrance to the mine, they were stopped by a cross-parked van on the road. The team and environmental activists got out of their cars and walked to the entrance of the mine. At the time, about 6-7 people were stoned to death, led by Bosil Metal director Miodrag Vukajlovic, the mine’s security chief and workers.

One of the stones hit the camera of the operator. Big stones have been thrown at the people from the TV team and the environmental activists, which endangers their lives and health. Dimitar Dimitar was punched in the chest, Branko Mitov’s clothes were torn.

The Bulgarian Embassy in Belgrade and the Consul General were contacted, and the team lodged a complaint with the Bosilegrad police.
