The Foreign Policy Institute (UPI) has announced the names of the persons who have applied for the position of director of the institute.
UPI is looking for a new director for a five-year term from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2029. The application period ended today, Monday at 4:15 p.m. A total of 21 applications arrived by the deadline.
Current director Mika Aaltola is also among the applicants. Other applicants include Ilmari Käihkö, docent of military sciences, Estonian political scientist Kristi Raik, and Hiski Haukkala, the president’s former chief of staff.
The board of the Foreign Policy Institute decides on the selection of the director. According to the release, the interviews of the applicants selected for the interview are scheduled for June 2024.
