As part of the Bell “Contreras green and clean”, The mayor in La Magdalena Contreras, Patricia Ortiz Couturier, asked the inhabitants join the recycling of Christmas trees and do not throw them into the streets, ravines or the garbage.
He assured that for this action allows to generate compost, What is it used in public parks and gardens and it is avoided that the trees are thrown into the streets, in ravines or they can be burned.
“These actions help us reduce the ecological impact and that is very significant, in addition to the fact that it is sought that those who have acquired a natural Christmas tree recycle it to avoid that its final destination is landfill, ravines, public road and incineration, with a view to protecting the environment”, Explained the mayor.
For recycling three collection centers were installed located in the Cultural Forum, located on Avenida Camino Real de Contreras 27 in the La Concepción neighborhood, at the Popular House on Avenida Luis Cabrera, San Jerónimo Aculco Lídice neighborhood and in the Parque La Estación, in Calle Ferrocarril de Cuernavaca corner Álvaro Obregón, Colonia Barra Seca.
Ortiz Couturier pointed out that the Christmas tree reception hours will be 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and will remain Until 20th of January.
“Recycling promotes a culture of sustainability Through simple and ecological habits that contribute to the improvement and fertilization of the soil in different areas of the mayor’s office, in addition to going as a family it also becomes a teaching for the little ones, through this action we achieve two important objectives, the first to take care of the environment through recycling, and the second to prolong the life of the trees delivered by composting ”, he explained.
