(CRHoy.com) .- The National Union of Journalists requested that it be considered that journalists are included in the front-line group in the vaccination plan against COVID-19.
According to the letter addressed to Roman Macaya, President of the Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS) already Daniel Salas, Health Minister, the union asked for priority vaccination due to the concern of being excluded in said plan.
The trade association assured that the media workers are seen forced to expose themselves to the virus for their work in guaranteeing information to all people in times of a pandemic.
The response from the authorities is still unknownHowever, the union reiterates the necessary support for journalists due to the high vulnerability to which they are exposed in the due coverage to carry out their informative work.
