The chief prosecutor of Quirihue, Eduardo Planck Muñoz, obtained a guilty verdict against José Miguel León Espinoza, who was facing an oral trial for frustrated homicide and illegal possession of a firearm, after shooting a man with a shotgun, in Ninhue, on the 18th April 2021.

Prosecutor Planck specified that the accused shot in the face and with the intention of killing his victim, who suffered fatal injuries that put him at risk of life.

The Chillán Oral Criminal Court also handed down a conviction against Alexis Molina Molina for the crime of illegally carrying a firearm. The foregoing, because this defendant was the one who gave José Miguel León the shotgun with which he fired the shots.

The Prosecutor’s Office is requesting a sentence of 10 years in prison for the frustrated homicide. The Oral Criminal Court of Chillán will announce its sentence on Monday the 15th of this month.
