According to the latest information, the mayor of Starosel, Mateja Gudev, was arrested and detained for 24 hours.
Earlier Plovdiv24.bg informed that this morning, on his way out of the village, the mayor hit a crossing child with his car. The 6-year-old boy was with his grandfather, but the elderly man was not injured.
According to investigators, no alcohol or drugs were found in the driver’s blood, but the cause of the accident is yet to be determined.
Unfortunately, information has emerged that the child is in a serious, life-threatening condition, as he has injuries.
