An 18-year-old youth was detained in Vratsa because of various drugs found in his possession, reported the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (OD of the Ministry of Internal Affairs) – Vratsa. The young man was checked on the street, during a specialized operation aimed at countering crimes related to the possession and distribution of narcotic substances.
During the search, 200 grams of cannabis buds, 200 grams of methamphetamine and 97 methamphetamine tablets were found. During subsequent procedural-investigative actions, methamphetamine, Xanax and an electric scale were also found and seized in the residence and adjacent premises. The 18-year-old was detained in the Vratsa Regional Office, and pre-trial proceedings for a crime have been initiated in the case.
According to the information from the ODMVR – Vratsa, for the first six months of this year, 102 drug-related crimes were registered, which is an increase compared to the same period last year, when 80 were registered.
At the end of January, an organized criminal group for the distribution of drugs was detained in Vratsa, and during the report on the work of the Regional Directorate in 2023, the Director Senior Commissioner Krasimir Yonchev announced the counteraction to the distribution of drugs as a priority.
