The Castro authorities arrested two men accused of having murdered a salesman in the province of Matanzas.
According to the information shared on the Facebook profile “La Palabra Imperfecta”, the murder was due to the fact that these two owed the seller a lot of money.
The page, which has links to State Security and the Ministry of the Interior (Minint), indicates that the incident occurred on April 15 in the municipality of Jovellanos.
The detainees were identified as Adrián Blanco Cabreriza and Luis Manuel Lugo, while the seller responded to the name of Roberto Valero Álvarez.
“Forces of the Ministry of the Interior in Cuba and its Special Brigade detained Adrián Blanco Cabreriza and Luis Manuel Lugo, who on April 15 murdered Roberto Valero Álvarez in his own home,” the publication reads.
According to information circulating online, the deceased was selling clothing, and the two murderers owed him a large amount of money. In that sense, the theory was raised that the crime was carried out to avoid paying him, however, until the authorities carry out a complete investigation, this is just speculation.
The publication was accompanied by a photograph of the exact moment in which Blanco Cabreriza was being detained by the National Revolutionary Police (PNR). While the other suspect does not appear in the photograph, it is known that he was arrested the same day.
The profile took advantage of the occasion to highlight the actions of the Cuban authorities in the province of Matanzas, congratulating them for having arrested the murderers. These actions are carried out by several pages that are supposedly dedicated to sharing news “independently”, however, their obvious official nature is difficult to ignore.
Like other profiles linked to State Security and the Minint, the Facebook page is dedicated to sharing crime cases when they are already solved, ignoring those in which the authorities have not been able to do anything about it. Proof is the fact that, although they proudly shared the arrest of the murderers, the page does not have a single mention of the murder that occurred in the previous weeks.
