A woman was arrested and identified publicly the day after the speeding car ran a red light and crashed into vehicles at a busy intersection in Windsor Hills, causing a fire in an accident in which six people diedincluding a pregnant woman and her unborn child, the California Highway Patrol announced Friday.
Nicole Lorraine Linton, 37, was detained at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Westwood, CHP said in a news release.
Highway Patrol authorities reported that they will recommend vehicular manslaughter charges with gross negligence when the case comes before the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office, he said.
Identify some of the deceased
On Friday morning, authorities identified a pregnant woman and her unborn child as two of the six victims who died in the collision.
Los Angeles County coroner’s officials said Ashley Ryan and her unborn child died in the incident.
