They arrest a Cuban involved in running an illegal dismantling workshop in Miami-Dade

Miami-Dade County authorities confirmed the arrest of a man of Cuban origin residing in the community of Redland who is involved in the management of an illegal dismantling workshop.

This is Darian Rubiera Lima, 36 years old, who had been a fugitive from justice since last September.

The middle Local 10 News indicates that the man would have surrendered to the police voluntarily this Monday, October 2, for which he was admitted to the Hammocks district station of the Miami-Dade Police Department.

After this, the Cuban was transferred to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, accused of operating, owning or assisting an illegal dismantling workshop.

Rubiera Lima appeared in court this Tuesday, October 3, where bail was set at $5,000.

For now, Miami-Dade authorities will continue to investigate his past activities, many of which are related to car theft in the state of Florida.

Background

It is important to mention that the man was arrested twice in recent months, first for vehicle theft and then for another case in which he was accused of helping in the operation of another illegal dismantling workshop.

The authorities detained the subject after carrying out an operation in a home located in the 22000 block of 194th Avenue, in the Southwest, in the Redland area, where they found several cars reported stolen.

A few days after that arrest, in August, Rubiera Lima was involved in another car theft and dismantling operation along with other Cuban citizens, identified as Rayan Baena Castañera, 20 years old; Yohan Cocho Rodríguez, 30; and Didier García Rodríguez, 43.

On that occasion, the authorities raided a location where these illegal activities were carried out, finding several stolen vehicles and tools. At the scene, a forklift that was registered to Rubiera was also found, for which another arrest warrant was issued.

However, the man fled after having paid his last bail, so he could not be arrested until last Monday, when he surrendered to the authorities.
