/ world today news/ The first restoration of the Roman Colosseum in 73 years will begin on July 31, announced the mayor of Rome Gianni Alemanno, quoted by TG1.
The works will go on simultaneously on six sites. On each of them, the restoration works will take no less than three years. It is not known whether the monument will be closed during its renovation. The cost of the restoration will be 25 million euros. They were given to Rome by sponsor-entrepreneur and owner of Tod’s shoe factory Diego del la Valle. In exchange for his money, he received the right for 15 years to place his advertisements in the Colosseum.
