They are preparing a new big rise in gas prices in November

Bulgargaz announced a forecast for a new big rise in the price of natural gas for November – the price is BGN 83.39 per megawatt-hour. This is 21.6% more than the current price for September, which was set by the EWRC – BGN 69.30 per megawatt-hour. And it was 20.48 percent higher than in August, the 24 Chasa newspaper writes.

The gas company, whose director is Nikolay Pavlov, announces that the forecast price for November 2021 is prepared on the basis of the forecast values of the pricing components as of September 10, 2021. They also announce that the forecast price on the European gas markets (as of September 10, 2021) d.) for deliveries in November 2021 is approximately EUR 56 per megawatt-hour, or BGN 109.53. The price of gas in Europe broke a new record

For the period January-September 2021, the price of Bulgargaz is on average more than 18% lower than the average price on the European gas markets for the same period, the company announced. However, in January in Bulgaria it was BGN 26.93, and in September – BGN 69.40, which is an increase of 157.7%. If we compare with the same month of 2020, the increase is 209%. If we calculate the increase for November compared to the beginning of the year, it is 213.36%. Natural gas rises in price by nearly 20.5%

Lower prices in Bulgaria compared to European ones can give a competitive advantage to businesses that export their products, but adversely affect those who work for the domestic market, as well as households that use gas, and since January – and those which are heated by central heating.

Bulgargaz reports that a final proposal for the price of natural gas for November 2021 will be sent for approval by the EWRC on November 1, 2021, taking into account the quotations of the price-forming components as of October 31, 2021.
