Third National Competition for short feature films “Student Film Festival 2024”, organized by the Center for Support for Personal Development – Stara Zagora and the International Youth Center – Stara Zagora, with the support of the Municipality of Stara Zagora. It aims to discover young talent and give the opportunity to present to a wide audience and is aimed at students from 14 to 19 years old, participating in various creative schools, youth centers and personal development support centers, as well as clubs to schools, community centers, informal groups and others. The topic will be – “Prove to me…”.
Requirements:
The film festival has a competitive nature, and feature films of all genres can participate in the competition program. Films containing violence, racism, ethnic and religious provocations, as well as those with obscene content, are not selected.
Submitted films should be up to 5:59 minutes long, including opening and closing captions, and in them it is necessary to mention – creators of the film, institution on whose behalf they are submitted, who worked on the film, facilitators. It must be in mp4 format, as well as uploaded to Youtube as Unlisted videos, to which only the jury and the team that created them will have access. Movies can be shot with a phone, drone, tablet, amateur or professional camera.
Films created during the 2023-2024 school year that have not participated in other competitions can participate in the Student Film Fest – Stara Zagora 2024. The teams that made the films should be made up of students between 14 and 19 years old. Persons outside the specified age group may participate as actors, but they will not be admitted as candidates for awards. Each club/group/institution can submit up to 2 films for the current year’s competition.
A competent jury, composed of representatives of the performing and visual arts, selects up to 10 films to be included in the festival program. The selected films compete for cash prizes in the following categories:
Best movie
Best director
Best actress
Best actor
Best case scenario
Best cinematography
A film or an individual participant from Stara Zagora performed best
Within the framework of the competition, there is also a youth jury, composed of young people – participants in the film directing, screenwriting and acting clubs at the CPLR and representatives of the MMC, Stara Zagora. The youth jury determines one incentive award in each of the above categories. Selected films and teams receive a participation certificate.
Films awarded by the official jury, individual participants and teams, receive a diploma and a cash prize. Those honored with incentive awards receive a diploma and subject prizes. Special prizes may be awarded at the organizers’ discretion.
Criteria:
Selection and selection of winners will be based on the following criteria: Story/Direction/Screenplay/Acting/Audio and Video Quality.
Deadlines:
To submit the films: May 17, 2024. Films received after this date will not be considered.
Announcement of the selected films: until June 10, 2024.
Conducting the festival part and awarding the winners: June 24, 2024.
All awarded participants will be notified and are required to confirm their attendance at the award ceremony. Underage participants should attach declarations of consent from parents.

In the form there is a field to share a youtube video and a link to Google drive or another platform from which the competition production can be downloaded. The form should be accompanied by signed declarations from the parents of all minor participants in the film productions (actors, directors, screenwriters, etc.).
