Both were caretaker defense ministers

Shalamanov has a solid military education. He graduated from the Higher Air Force School in Dolna Mitropolia with a degree in radio electronics. He was in the Intelligence and Electronic Combat Directorate of the General Staff of the Land Forces. In 1991 he became a doctor of cybernetics in Kyiv, and since 1998 he has been an associate professor of automated control systems. In 1995 he graduated from the Military Academy in Sofia. He has also studied in the United States, Germany and the George W. Marshall European Center for Security Studies. In the government of Ivan Kostov he was Deputy Minister of Defense. He also worked in NATO. Since 2009 he has been the Director of Cooperation with Nations at the NATO Consultative, Command and Control Agency. In 2012, he was appointed Director of Consumer Cooperation at NATO’s Joint Communications and Information Agency.
According to the right-wing coalition, Prof. Todor Tagarev is also suitable for the post of Stefan Yanev. He is a military expert, a longtime employee in the Bulgarian defense system. In 2013 he was Minister of Defense in the caretaker government of Marin Raykov. Tagarev also graduated from the Georgi Benkovski Higher Air Force School in Dolna Mitropolia as an engineer in automation and telemechanics. In 1989 he defended his dissertation at the Air Force Academy of Engineering “N. E. Zhukovsky ”in the USSR, and in 1994 – at the Command and Staff College of the United States Air Force. And he worked in NATO. From 2005 to 2008, Tagarev was a member of the NATO Research and Technology Board and a national representative in its Systems Analysis and Research panel.
A few days ago, Shalamanov and Tagarev agreed that “the main goal of the military operation in Ukraine ordered by Russian President Vladimir Putin in the early hours of Thursday is to overthrow the current rulers in Kyiv, install a puppet government and physically destroy anyone ready to resist “.
